Your family’s data
deserves care.
This page describes Zofi’s current invite-only beta service, operated by Tammo Mueller. It also explains this public information website. Zofi is a parent companion for a separately configured child phone.
This website
This static site does not ask you to sign in, use advertising cookies or include analytics scripts. The hosting provider processes technical request information, such as IP address and requested pages, to serve and protect the website. Visiting this page does not connect a phone or send Zofi device reports.
The beta waitlist
Waitlist signup is not open on this website yet. When it opens, if you join the waitlist, we will store your email address, signup and confirmation timestamps, and the version of the consent you accepted. Amazon SES delivers a confirmation email. Your address joins the confirmed waitlist only after you click the confirmation button. We use it to manage beta invitations, not advertising. You can remove your signup using the link in that email. Confirmation and removal links are personal; do not share them.
Information used by the app
- Account information from Apple or Google sign-in, such as your provider identifier, email address and name when supplied. Apple’s Hide My Email relay address is supported.
- Information from an enrolled child phone: location observations, nearby Wi-Fi identifiers and signal measurements, battery and network status, software version, check-ins and diagnostics.
- Contacts, message content and picture attachments, call records and phone-open events reported by the configured bridge.
- Parent settings, device acknowledgements, security/audit records and notification registration details when notifications are enabled.
Why it is processed
Zofi uses this information to authenticate parents, associate phones with their family, display reports and history, synchronize requested settings, provide notifications and diagnose failures. Family access checks control who can view enrolled phone information. Preview records are fictional and kept separate from real accounts.
Service providers
Apple or Google authenticate your account through Amazon Cognito. Amazon Location supplies map display data. Google’s geolocation service may receive nearby Wi-Fi observations when a location lookup is requested. Hosting and storage providers process information needed to run the service. If push notifications are configured, Expo and Apple or Google deliver them; notification text is designed to exclude message contents.
The software also includes optional server-side message classification. It is not enabled in the current private deployment. If enabled later, this notice must identify the classifier and explain what message content it receives before that processing begins.
Sharing and your choices
Zofi does not sell family information or use it for targeted advertising. Parents can optionally create a time-limited location link. Anyone with a working link and the necessary service access can view the location it exposes until it expires or is revoked. Share these links carefully.
Only enroll a phone you are authorized to manage. The parent app does not request access to the parent phone’s contacts, messages or GPS. Contact your setup provider before changing the child phone’s bridge installation or collection settings.
Retention and deletion
The beta retains device history and audit records on the service. An automatic retention limit has not yet been established. Request account or associated-data deletion through the developer using TestFlight’s Send Beta Feedback or your enrollment contact. Deletion is currently handled manually and may require confirming ownership; the app does not yet provide a self-service deletion control. Backup copies may remain until those backups are replaced.
Children’s information
The parent app is intended for adults. Reports from a child’s phone can include sensitive information. Parents and guardians must have the authority and any required consent to enroll and manage that phone. The public website does not solicit information from children.
Security and questions
The app uses authenticated connections and access controls. No service can promise absolute security. During the beta, contact the developer through TestFlight’s Send Beta Feedback or the person who helped enroll your phone for support, access, correction or deletion requests. Please avoid sending unnecessary message contents, contact lists or locations in a support request.
This notice will be updated when deployment, providers or processing practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
